There Are Unlimited Hire Yourself Jobs Out There, If I was a young person I could hardly wait to get started. Started working for myself at 17.

I am now over 80. Have ran maybe 50 different businesses, all started with no money or just my money, No one financed me. Still operate 7 plus hundreds of web sites, with seven employees, and 5 non internet conventional business employees.

Operated six stores for over 15 years and closed the last one last year.

Ran two stores i started from scratch with no money before i was 21, and have owned several low power TV stations, one of the first cable systems in the country, and still publish several small newspapers. All with no outside money. First stores i worked for the government nights, to support my four kids and started my stores in the daytime, and went on from their full time since.

I see opportunity everywhere and I think you are foolish to work for someone else when you have an opportunity to learn how to work for yourself.

How do you make a job where there is no job?

That’s easy. Let's start with sales which is probably the most common. Run into a gal that was making big bucks in sophisticated job and was sure there was going to be no openings in her field for some time, so it was either take a minimum wage job or not find one.

She invested 2,000 in a portable hot dog stand, tows that downtown five days a week and in four hours makes good money.

Now she hired herself, but that is not what we usually think of in going into independent contractor sales.

Know of another fellow who bought very small high pressure washer, tows it behind his car and goes to small private plane airports and washes private jets inside and out (and other private planes) and makes good money. Hired himself and works when he wants. Getting laid off was best thing that ever happened to him he says.

There are always a zillion companies that have products to sell and if you learn how to sell them you can make good money working as much as you want, whenever you want as an independent self employed person. Most have worked out some plan that works and visit others making a success of any you consider.

There are thousands of these things that will be advertised various places seeking reps. Avon would be an example of an organized direct sale organization, that you can work as a sales person, eventually train others that work for you etc. and you make a percentage of each person you recruit, train and supervise.

This is just an example to show there is places to go working for yourself, you can advance all the time working for yourself.

Let's say you are a knowledgeable software person, you know how to install and teach others how to operate a useful program.

Now software companies biggest over head is Distribution. If they take in $100 their primary and almost entire overhead is involved in selling and getting it operating to the customers satisfaction.

Now you become a software manufacturers rep, you hire yourself and are now a software distributor installer person who offers to distribute many different companies, software. (or just one) You do many different types for many different companies.

They will often have leads, from a show or convention or someway they have people in your area that are prospects for their product but they can not send out a salaried person from the home office, it would cost way to much. But on a $200 sale, that you do all the work on install etc and do all the debugging, maybe they will allow you to keep $150.

Let's say you are in Minnesota and a software company makes a great management software for turkey growers.

There are ten turkey growing farmers in your area and the company will tell you how they qualify and sell to turkey farmers.

Now in sales we have something called the law of averages. This company will know what the law of averages is with turkey farmers. They know that every ten turkey farmers they show this to, for example, 2 buy it.

Now in direct sales you learn most of your on going business comes from referrals of your present satisfied enthused customers.

The first two that bought from you are happy with the way it works for them and they send you to farmer Joe, who really can use this, so you have an easy sale. You work this right you can go on and on indefinitely. That is called direct sales.

Now you may also carry management software for pig farmers and you may get them to send you to all the pig farmers they know.. If you get good at selling this in big quantities you may go over in the next state and hook up some unemployed soft ware person to do what you do, train them and every sale they make the company pays you an override, often ten per cent. Now you have two incomes. You can see if this goes well you can explode your income. You are working for yourself.

The company likely never tells you what to do, (might make suggestions) and you work as much or little as you want.

Now in sales i noticed there was a problem in that most were not really into expanding sales into state or even county wide for huge income, They only wanted to find an easier way to make $500 a week. When they got to >$500 a week they essentially shut down that was what they set out to make and it did not matter if it was Tuesday, and they were already there, they would not work beyond, the $500. in reality, they always found some excuse.

Now that was faulty self management. Unable to motivate and manage themselves. You can likely find a 100 "hire your" self independent contractors sales jobs in this Sundays paper, and/or internet that you can start work this afternoon.

But that is just one angle, going to show you how you can go into business for yourself and do thousands weekly with NO or very little Start up money, most cases NONE.

I will tell you about one I started with no money at all. Did over $1,000 the first week (mostly all income under Expenses) and got better over the years, ran it every week for over ten years. My son took it over and he did it for me for years. Took less then 7 hours a week. An acquaintance of mine spent a day with me and learned how to do it and successfully duplicated it in several places around the country, hiring people to do the 7 hours of work weekly.

If you use your head you can see how to do this sort of thing with a different twist in your area. Ran into a gal in Ca that worked for the federal government. On weekends she made more money then she did on her government job for years. It was ingenious, and an improvement and modification of what i did. I could have done both. She spent under ten hours a week on this business and she may still be operating today.

This was based on learning something, called "how to be a buyer". The real trick of that one was my being an educated buyer. That was key that people that tried to compete with me NEVER mastered, because they did not know the secret. I will read it here for the first time.
